Doctor of Physical Therapy student

I love the fact that as a physical therapist you get to improve the lives of patients as well as spend time with them to get to know them, which is an amazing feeling because they become family/friends so you get to treat them long-term.

Life Changing Experience

I knew I wanted to become a Physical Therapist since I was in high school. I was heavily involved in ballet and was struggling with the decision to continue my dance career at a professional level or to start applying to college. One day during rehearsal I got injured which required me to go to physical therapy and the rest was history, leading me to choose a career as a physical therapist. 在我康复期间, I was in awe of how knowledgeable my PT was, how attentive she was not only to my physical but my mental recovery as well. Most importantly I liked how present she was throughout my recovery with her. I love the fact that as a physical therapist you get to improve the lives of patients as well as spend time with them to get to know them, which is an amazing feeling because they become family/friends so you get to treat them long-term.

为什么是联合山?

I chose UMU DPT for numerous reasons. However, faculty is the main reason I decided to further my education as a Purple Raider. I had interviewed at other DPT programs, but it felt like the faculty were just asking questions because they had to. At Mount's interview, 虽然, I felt a genuine connection with the professors which were interested in getting to know me as a student and an individual in comparison to being another number in their program. I was also able to pick up on the relationship between the current students and faculty and it just confirmed that choosing Mount Union was the right choice for me. I have truly enjoyed all of my rotations and learned so much from each setting, but my favorite and most challenging experience was outpatient neuro-rehab. My neuro clinical pushed me outside of my comfort zone and I am so grateful for it as it was the most rewarding experience I had while in PT school.
